GREENPORT, NY
The North Fork
A coastal waterfront home with no shortage of Victorian character - from the mouldings, to ceiling medallions, to a stained glass window over the stairs, - brought to life for a family from Brooklyn with an appreciation for industrial details and their impressive collection of family heirlooms.
We used balance, layers, innovation, and play to create a space in which all pieces, alongside the people, are at their fullest expression.
To create a space that was simultaneously comfortable and cozy, without being too traditional, I juxtaposed historical details with modern features- like this funky living room light fixture.
The hours spent sifting through family photos of the client’s glamorous grandparents’ strutting the Atlantic City boardwalk, and hearing the stories behind to each object and piece of art, are moments I forever treasure. Every object’s location is mindful and purposeful to symbiotically bring them, and the space they each inhabit, to life.
